The Galileo Open Air Cinema in the Cape Winelands and Cape Town Venues

Grab some snacks and get ready to watch your favourite films beneath the stars on the Weekends. This year The Galileo Open Air Cinema is continuing its expanded schedule with a weekly Friday and bi-weekly Saturday screening at some of the Cape’s historic, scenic and all-round fabulous wine estates and inner-city gems. During the school holidays, special Family Sunday screenings will take place at Kelvin Grove in Newlands. Movie-goers can gain entrance to the venues from 6pm onwards on Fridays, 5pm onwards on Saturdays, and 4pm on Sundays (proof of ticket purchase is required) and grab a bite to eat from the on-site vendors. The list of food stalls will vary according to the venue, and details of who will be present can be found on under each venue’s page; be aware that only cash will be accepted as no card facilities are available.

Please note that guests will not be allowed to bring any alcohol from home into the venue. The movies start just after sunset, between 7:45pm and 8:30pm; it’s best to get there early to secure prime viewing spots. Chairs and backrests from home are not allowed into the movie area, but backrests and blankets are available for rent at the venue if you haven’t already booked them with your ticket.
